In every conceivable way RC Sproul Jr is a big disappointment. If his name were Fred Smith no one would be disappointed. No one would give a passing thought to anything RC Jr says. Why all the disappointment? Because he's the son, the very namesake, of the nation's leading Reformed theologian. RC Jr has brought nothing but shame and disgrace to his family name. If he cared about honoring his father and keeping the 5th Commandment he'd take up another line of work where he might actually have some qualifications.

Like many other readers here I respect RC Sproul Sr. I respect him as a theologian. And yet of what value is any brilliant expounding of theology if the expounder himself is incapable of making practical application of it, especially in matters as important as family?

RC Sproul Jr has been a complete failure as a minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus. He's ruined his own church, and the lives of many families. How does his Dad respond? How has RC Sr. always responded to his son's sins and failures? He rescues "Precious". After ruining his own church and his Highlands Study Center, now RC Sproul Jr will be given the opportunity to ruin Ligonier Ministries too.

"While Dr. Sproul remains healthy and vibrant, we have invited a new generation of teachers to help the ministry remain true to its founding purpose. The board knew it would be impossible to find one man to whom the torch could be passed. The reality is that Dr. Sproul is a unique gift from the Lord. So we looked for men who were trustworthy, able-in-their-field, and wise. It’s my great delight to tell you that at the beginning of 2010, Drs. Robert Godfrey, Sinclair Ferguson, Steven Lawson, and R.C. Sproul Jr. became Teaching Fellows at Ligonier Ministries. These four men will serve as advisors to Dr. Sproul, the board, and senior leadership, and will be active teachers in all the ministries at Ligonier." http://www.ligonier.org/blog/new-teaching-fellows-ligonier-ministries/

RC Sproul Jr has moved to Orlando. He's "being groomed" to take over the helm at Ligonier upon the passing of his father. The story above, by the Ligonier board of directors (meaning RC Sproul and Vesta Sproul) is a mere cover story to give the appearance that RC Jr won't ultimately be at the helm. After all the scandals that RC Sproul Jr has left in his wake, his parents still consider him to be "trustworthy, able-in-their-field, and wise."

I love RC Sproul, but I don't think much of his wisdom when it comes to pampering his kids, and getting family involved in running his ministry. He should have learned something from the utter catastrophe of appointing his son-in-law Tim Dick to be President of Ligonier.

The Babelists never tire of claiming that Christianity erases all blood ties in the unity of spirit. What they're really expressing is the gnostic heresy that only spirit is good and real, while the material world is evil and illusory.

This is exactly the mentality of modern liberalism. What you feel in your spirit is good and true, and the illusions of the world (i.e., reality) must yield to it.

Getting back to Christianity, if blood lines are meaningless from the perspective of God's Word, then why does that Word devote so many pages to genealogies--particularly that of Christ? Are we to despise the physical flesh, when God Himself took on flesh as a particular Man of a particular people?

Sproul ardently professes, in gnostic fashion, that race and other aspects of matter don't matter. But the way he keeps coming back to it suggests that he's trying to convince himself as much as anyone else.

If Racially Challenged Sproul, Jr., really believes that his only "family" consists of all Christians everywhere, then he should not consider his adopted African boy to be a "Sproul" at all. For after all, in Christ there are no Sprouls or Wilsons, DeMars or Norths. Doesn't he realize what a tribalist he is by giving his last name and his financial support only to a select group of children? Aren't ALL children his if they believe in Jesus? I daresay that even his dinner table is *gasp* segregated so as to limit it to persons bearing the last name Sproul.

Here we have a man who is in grave need of repentance for sullying the gospel.

And, if any of Sproul's family does not believe in Jesus, he must be commanded to treat them like trash - for such kind are not really his family and deserve no honor or respect whatsoever.

"My kin are not those who can trace their lineage back to the British Isles. My kin are those who have been bought by the blood of the Lamb."

As soon as I read this, I heard Parry's 'Jerusalem."

"And did those feet, in ancient time, walk upon England's mountains green, etc."

The opposing facts of Sproul's comments are actually a tautology. One is ONLY 'sprinkled with the blood of the lamb, IF he's a King's Kid.' That was the unified witness of Christendom, I believe.

A drunkard is a drunkard is a drunkard. RC, Jr. may be sober from the alcohol, but now he's just traded it for another narcotic. It's clear from this post he's drunk on the wine of the Whore of Babylon.

I'd love to listen to that Rushdoony "From the Easy Chair" discussion, but it looks like it's removed from the Chalcedon website, (though it's still available for purchase.)

I tried to call, but Chalcedon is closed today.
