Strikes me as somewhat mocking. Miscegenation is endemic and I see it as quite serious because unmixed northern european types are getting hard to find especially in my neck of the woods on the west coast. but anyways I appreciate your postings on the whole.

Thank you very much for including information on the Western Rite among the various Orthodox Churches, and how Christendom once saw her boundaries as coterminous with that of Europe’s.

If only the current Antiochian Bishop of the USA would hear, ‘read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest’ (as the 1928 BCP- approved for use as one of THE Western Rites in Orthodoxy- states). Time was not too long ago, priests ordained in the Antiochian Jurisdiction (by Byzantine patriarchs) for the Western Rite (WR) could only officiate at WR altars; whereas those priests who were ordained for the Chrysostom Rite, could officiate at BOTH rites’ altars! Talk about the ‘n*gger at the back of the bus,’ and in the Anglo USA, to boot!

It’s why I didn’t go toward Antioch (as well as the SCOBA-dox Churches all being part of the NCC/WCC!) in the first place, though they were the most ‘WR-friendly.’

But, if the Orthodox did not still have a policy of ‘Byzantine is better,’ we could actually have CELEBRATED our ETHNIC solidarity with the East, rather than seek (even among the Orthodox of a more ‘trendy’ persuasion- the GOA, for instance) to be ‘more multicultural than thou’… er, you. Can’t have that ‘liturgical language’ in an era of ‘inclusion,’ now can we?

All I can say to that is, ‘Orthodoxia ki thanatos.’
And ‘Give ‘em Watts, boys!’

Same idea, different century…..
